Dunkirk

You've seen the amazing film by Christopher Nolan, now allow us to take you to the major sights where the Dunkirk evacuation took place in that desperate summer of 1940.


The start of our tour is the excellent Museum Dunkerque 1940 Operation Dynamo, the film, interpretation panels and exhibits will give you the context of the operation which evacuated over 300,000 personnel from Dunkirk to Britain.  Our expert guide will also tell you about aspects that aren't covered such as the role played by the RAF in defending the evacuation from aerial attack.

The next stage of the tour is to the Eastern mole where some 200,000 personnel embarked onto larger vessels over a week and heavily featured within the film.

The Bray-Dunes are probably the most iconic place people associate with the Dunkirk evacuation with the scrolling sand beaches.  This was where the little ships came into rescue the troops from the beaches and improvised pier made up of army trucks.

The final part of the tour will take in the numerous memorials located around Dunkirk and the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery.  Allowing our guests to remember the sacrifice of all Allied personnel in ensuring the success of the evacuation.
